Sam was born and raised in New Jersey. She attended Villa Walsh Academy in Morristown, NJ for high school. She was then accepted into a dual-degree, 4+4, B.S./M.D. program where she attended St. Bonaventure University (SBU) for her undergraduate education and matriculated to The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences (GW SMHS) for her medical education. At SBU, Sam graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in biology and minor in journalism/ mass communication. At GW SMHS, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and graduated with distinction and a concentration in Medical Education Leadership. In her spare time, Sam loves to hike, travel, Zumba and, of course, edit journalistic pieces! Sam is now an OB/GYN resident at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Nina Nguyen is a Canadian resident physician currently training at the Bruyère Family Medicine Centre, affiliated to the University of Ottawa. She completed her undergraduate medical studies at the Université de Sherbrooke, in the province of Quebec. During her training, she was involved with the in-Training team as a managing editor for almost three years, as well as various other medical humanities blogs.
